The poetry and photography book "So I Won’t Suffocate" is the debut work of photographer and poet Hillah Tomer. In this book, the author takes her words and creates a visual interpretation for each of her poems in the form of a portrait. The book is an invitation to a journey, entering a body that is simultaneously familiar and foreign, experiencing pain after joy, processing the difficulty of release, undergoing a process of maturation and exposure. Hillah Tomer, photographer, artist, and poet, born in 1996, lives in Tel Aviv. She graduated from the Theatre program at Telma Yelin High School and performs her poems and spoken word pieces across the country. Additionally, she teaches theatre. This book is a first exposure to poems written between 2013-2016, providing a kind of "guided tour" through the corridors of Hillah's soul.
